Principal Scientist

We are seeking an experienced scientist to lead the development of a novel retrotransposon-based platform for in vivo CAR-T/CAR-NK therapies. This role combines scientific leadership with hands-on research, managing a small team while advancing a first-in-class gene integration technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and execution of retrotransposon-based gene integration approaches for in vivo cell engineering.
• Design and optimize RNA templates, integration systems, and delivery strategies.
• Partner closely with LNP/mRNA delivery teams to enable efficient in vivo transduction.
• Mentor and manage a team of scientists while maintaining laboratory involvement.
• Collaborate across research, development, and CMC functions to advance programs toward the clinic.
• Present data, contribute to IP generation, and drive scientific innovation.

Qualifications

• PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Expertise in retrotransposons, retrons, reverse transcriptase-based systems, or related gene integration technologies.
• Experience with mRNA and/or LNP delivery platforms.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and research team management skills.
• Background in molecular engineering, cell-based assays, and translational research.

Preferred

• Experience in CAR-T/CAR-NK or cell therapy.
• Knowledge of non-viral gene editing/integration technologies.
• Familiarity with IND-enabling studies and early development.
• Experience engaging with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
