Principal Scientist – Retrotransposon-Based In Vivo CAR
We are seeking an experienced scientist to lead the development of a novel retrotransposon-based platform for in vivo CAR-T/CAR-NK therapies. This role combines scientific leadership with hands-on research, managing a small team while advancing a first-in-class gene integration technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategy and execution of retrotransposon-based gene integration approaches for in vivo cell engineering.
- Design and optimize RNA templates, integration systems, and delivery strategies.
- Partner closely with LNP/mRNA delivery teams to enable efficient in vivo transduction.
- Mentor and manage a team of scientists while maintaining laboratory involvement.
- Collaborate across research, development, and CMC functions to advance programs toward the clinic.
- Present data, contribute to IP generation, and drive scientific innovation.
Qualifications
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in retrotransposons, retrons, reverse transcriptase-based systems, or related gene integration technologies.
- Experience with mRNA and/or LNP delivery platforms.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and research team management skills.
- Background in molecular engineering, cell-based assays, and translational research.
Preferred
- Experience in CAR-T/CAR-NK or cell therapy.
- Knowledge of non-viral gene editing/integration technologies.
- Familiarity with IND-enabling studies and early development.
- Experience engaging with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
