Job Description: 

The successful candidate will join an innovative Antibody Discovery and Engineering Department, with a strong record of success in developing novel antibody therapeutics in the field of immuno-oncology. The successful candidate will support mammalian antibody expression platforms and cell-line engineering to facilitate discovery activities. We are looking for a motivated and talented scientist with a deep understanding and hands-on experience in molecular biology, cell line engineering as well as antibody expression and purification to advance the next wave of novel therapeutic concepts.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  • Transient protein expression/production- Antibodies (mg to gram-scale) and antigens- in different host cell lines (CHO, HEK) in flasks to support candidate selection
  • Design and cloning of DNA constructs, perform DNA preparations
  • Participate in stable pool generation to produce candidates to enable in vitro, in vivo and non-human primate studies. Perform production in bioreactors.
  • Perform FACS staining for antigen detection, cancer cell line characterization
  • Data analysis
  • Purification of antigens and antibodies (Ni-NTA, Protein A, CEX) and characterization using different analytical methods (e.g., SDS-PAGE, SE-HPLC, IEF)
  • Management of media stocks for all Antibody Discovery and Engineering department Present and discuss data in English in both informal and formal settings
  • Maintain detailed and organized documentation
  • Participate in day-to-day laboratory management
  • Perform other relevant duties as required
  • Collaborate across the matrix to support portfolio development
  • Comply with HSE guidelines

 

EDUCATION AND DESIRED EXPERIENCE
 

  • BSc/MSc in Biotechnology, Biochemistry or related discipline (e.g. cell biology/engineering) with demonstrated analytical skills is required
  • Experience in the following: molecular biology, antibody or protein expression and characterization desired
  • Experience in stable CHO pool development based on transposons is preferred
  • Strong expertise in mammalian cell culture (small to large scale) and transfection methods is desired
  • Strong experience with PCR, mutagenesis, DNA handling software, and bioinformatics tools
  • Knowledge of antibody analytical methods is a plus
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary biologics discovery team
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and align with internal and external stakeholders around these priorities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary
  • Professional level in English, both written and verbal.
